With an increasing market on online based pos systems the requirement for web print ready printers have skyrocketed. I have decided to test some of the best printers in the market available for online applications. I must say the results are satisfactory. In this demo I'm testing a Star Micronics Lan and a Bluetooth printer with an Ipad. The pos software is Square pos. I have tested it with Kounta, Square and Vend. All with different results.

If you are looking to get a web based pos system I can recommend all three. The problem is they all support different types of hardware. The only common printer for all three pos systems is the Star Micronics TSP-100 series. As you can see on the demo the operation is smooth and consistent. It is not recommended for high volume businesses. On the video you will notice the lag between the completion of the sale and the time it take to print. This averages around a 1-2 seconds. In a high volume business this can mean to long queues and frustrated customers.

If you are selling 20 items a day this is the perfect solution for you. Cost effective? probably, Futuristic? 100%, Ease of setup and initial cost is very low on these systems. They are good for newbies in the industries who are testing the waters, on the longer run they might end up costing you more. Thats a topic to tackle at a later stage.

If you are looking to start up a new business come have a chat to me. I can show you what's best for your business model. Weather it may be cloud or not.
